YOUNG Saints forward Matty Foster is back in full training and will play within the next month.
The 21-year-old second rower had been singled out as one to watch ahead of 2021 – but he suffered horrendous misfortune in breaking his jaw on week one of Super League while playing on dual registration with Leigh Centurions.
Having gamely battled back from that, the former Blackbrook junior and England Under 16 international saw his season ended while playing for Leigh at Magic – sustaining a devastating Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury which required surgery.
But he is now well on the road to recovery and Woolf revealed that he will be back in action within the next month.
Woolf said: “He is back in full training and doing opposed and full contact. He has been doing that this past couple of weeks.
“Through his diligence he is well ahead of where he is supposed to be at this time.
“We are being patient with him and giving him more preparation for when he goes to play so that we can make sure that we don’t put him a situation where it is a risk of happening again.
“He will play reserves within the next month.”
