After watching paper cut through wood, the CrazyRussianWoodShop decided to try cutting through wood using a CD disk attached to an angle grinder. Experiments like this are definitely not recommended as the CD could disintegrate at any moment. Angle grinders with cutting wheels are dangerous enough to use under normal circumstances.

That aside, you'll see some interesting results:

A 5-amp angle grinder can spin upwards of 10,000 RPM. At that speed a CD won't last long when touching anything. The video shows the CD melting and dripping off as it barely cuts into the wood. Technically, yes a CD can cut wood, but we'd say the wood got the better of the disk.

Angle grinders are amazing tools, but they're extremely unforgiving and they can be downright dangerous. You should never modify your angle grinder or any power tool for that matter, as it not only voids any warranty, but can create a hazardous situation.
