Professional Tool Reviews for Pros

There’s a constant stream of new Ridgid tools and batteries coming to your local Home Depot and available online. Bookmark this page to stay up to date on the latest newest products and releases!

The Ridgid R8609021B handheld vacuum uses a single 18V battery for power. It boasts 40 CFM and 24.6 inches of water lift, which was great when we used it in the shop for cleaning up sawdust and other light debris. We especially liked the 2-stage filtration system with a removable and washable filter. This vacuum comes with an extension wand so you don’t have to bend down or grab a ladder to clean hard-to-reach places.

Price: $59.97 for the bare tool and $99 for the kit, including one 2.0Ah battery and charger. Both options include a 21-inch extension wand, utility fan nozzle, crevice nozzle, and crevice accessory clip. Ridgid backs your purchase with a 3-year warranty.

If you’re a Ridgid battery collector and avid tool user, this Ridgid sequential battery charger might be just what you’re looking for. It charges any 6 Ridgid 18V batteries sequentially (one at a time). Ridgid claims that it charges batteries twice as fast as the R86093 single-port model. All six ports have an LED light charging indicator. There’s also a single battery port selector button that gives you the option to select which battery you’d like to charge first.

Price: $139 for the bare tool, with a 3-year warranty included.

Hybrid power can give you loads more versatility than just one power source. That’s what the Ridgid 18V hybrid jobsite fan has to offer. It’s one of the best jobsite fans we’ve tested for value and portability. An 18V 6.0Ah Max Output battery gives you 7 hours of runtime on high. If you want all-day use, you can plug it into an extension cord, too. Ridgid tells us it offers up to 670 CFM, which is 40% more power than their last hybrid jobsite fan.

Price: $79 for the bare tool. Battery and charger are sold separately.

Ridgid’s newest table saw has a rack-and-pinion fence system which was designed to eliminate some squaring issues and make your adjustments faster. The 15-amp motor of the Ridgid R4550 jobsite table saw turns a 10-inch blade up to 5,000 RPM. You also have a generous rip capacity in both directions— 32 1/2 inches to the right and 22 inches to the left. With a gravity-rise stand included, you get the convenience of portability, too.

Price: $499 including the table saw and gravity-rise stand.

With a lower speed and 25% more power than its Octane predecessor, tough cuts and grinds are easier for the Ridgid 18V brushless 4 1/2-inch angle grinder. When using a Max Output battery, you can enhance this power, since they ensure peak performance. This tool also updated some safety and convenience features when compared to their last models, like adding a paddle switch and electronic brake, and tool-free wheel changes.

Price: $119 for the bare tool, and $218 for the kit which includes one 18V Lithium-ion 2.0Ah battery and charger.

Unlike their previous product, the Ridgid 860435B heat gun doesn’t require butane or any power source other than its 18V battery. This eliminates the need for loading and disposing of gas or other fuel supplies. Ridgid also tells us that it reaches its maximum temperature of 900°F in just ten seconds. Additionally, you have a runtime of over 20 minutes when paired with an 18V 6Ah Max Output battery.

Price: $99 for the bare tool, which includes two interchangeable nozzle heads.

With faster cutting speeds and better power than its Octane predecessor, we reviewed the Ridgid 18V Brushless 7 1/4-inch circular saw earlier this year. It dropped some weight since its last iteration too— it weighs about 0.7 lbs less than Octane for a total weight of 10.5 lbs with a 6.0Ah Max Output battery. We noticed more cut confidence, too. In our opinion, it’s more than capable of meeting the performance expectation of pro-level work.

Price: $179 for the bare tool and $249 for the kit, which includes a 4.0Ah Max Output battery and charger.

Power is the number one priority for the Ridgid R86212B high-torque impact wrench. With its 1/2-inch drive, it’s capable of producing 900 ft-lbs of fastening torque and 1300 ft-lbs of breakaway torque. To control the performance, you have three standard modes and an auto-tightening mode that automatically stops to reduce the risk of over-tightening.

Look for bare tool and kit options beginning spring 2022.

Price: $249 bare tool, $319 kit with a 4.0Ah Max Output battery and charger (both available with a protective boot for $44 more)

If mid-torque fits your needs more, you have two options when it comes to Ridgid’s new 2022 impact wrenches. The Ridgid R86012B mid-torque impact wrench has a friction ring that allows you to quickly change sockets, and the R86012PDB model has a pin detent top to ensure secure socket fitment. Both models produce 650 ft-lbs of breakaway torque and 500 ft-lbs of fastening torque. Like the high-torque impact wrench listed above, there are three standard modes and an auto-tightening mode.

Both models are on deck with bare tool and kit options in spring 2022.

Price for both models: $199 bare tool, $269 kit with a 4.0Ah Max Output battery and charger.

Expect the Ridgid R866010 18V Brushless 1/4 in. Ratchet to get better performance and longer runtimes compared to previous models. Its brushless motor delivers 45 ft-lbs of torque and offers fastening and removal speeds up to 325 RPM. It has a two-finger variable speed trigger and a recessed forward and reverse switch. These features, along with its slim head profile, allow for use even in tight spaces.

The 1/4-Inch ratchet bare tool and kit options are scheduled for spring 2022.

Price: $179 bare tool, $229 kit with 2.0 Ah battery and charger (both available with a protective boot for $29 more)

Very similar to the R866010 1/4-inch ratchet listed above, the R866011 3/8-inch Ratchet has a two-finger variable speed trigger and a recessed forward and reverse switch. It also includes a slim head profile which allows for use in tight areas. The big difference is performance with the 3/8-inch ratchet offering up to 250 RPM and up to 55 ft-lbs of torque.

Bare tool and kit options will be available starting in spring 2022.

The highlights for the 3/8-inch ratchet include many of the same features present in the 1/4-inch listed above.

Price: $179 bare tool, $229 kit with 2.0 Ah battery and charger (both available with a protective boot for $29 more)

The Ridgid R866012 18V Brushless 1/2-inch Ratchet offers yet another size variation. The largest in drive size of the new ratchets being released by Ridgid this year, the R866012 delivers fastening and removal speed of up to 175 RPM and 60 ft-lbs of torque. Like the 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch models listed above, the R866012 also offers a two-finger variable speed trigger and a recessed forward and reverse switch.

Bare tool and kit options are available starting in spring 2022.

Price: The bare tool retails at $199 and the kit retails for $249. Like in the rest of the pricing options listed above, both options come with the ability to purchase a protective boot for $29 extra.

I have a bunch of ridgid tools, I like them, but their new tools look super cheap, like something that you’d find in a fisher price tool box. terrible.

Truly hope Ridgid comes out with a Octane framing nailer soon. That would really complete my work tool set for my occupation!

The 7/16 arbor size on the subcompact saw is a bit unusual. Home Depot doesn’t stock that size (I asked.)
