Boots from Keen Utility get their names for towns and cities across America and the characteristics of the town drive the inspiration for each design. So what should we expect from the Roswell—the town known for Area 51? Something out of the ordinary.
Keen Utility tells us that the Roswell boots are built for warm weather conditions. The tops are made out of canvas material, similar to many common casual shoes. Canvas is more breathable than leather, which is what many work boots are comprised of. What’s unusual is the tops of the boots fold down around the ankles, allowing for more airflow and a more casual look.
Steel-toe boots are heavy and can sometimes cause difficulty maintaining dexterity. Keen Utility Roswell safety toe boots, like many other Keen boots, contain left/right-specific carbon fiber toes. Carbon fiber toes are around 15% lighter than steel, so you get some weight loss there.
Keen turns to its KEEN.ReGen midsole designed to return 50% more energy than standard EVA foam. We’ve had several boots with that midsole in the past, and it’s a breath of fresh air for your legs and feet on long days.
The Roswell boots retail for $150 in soft toe or $155 for the carbon fiber toe. They come in two different colors (green or tan). You can find them at your favorite Keen Utility retailer in-store or online.
